Fatal error on Plant 3D Startup

We recently have run into an error that prevents Plant 3D from starting up.  Users will try to start Plant 3D and a fatal error will occur similar to the one below.


This particular error has a simple fix.  In your local user data folder, the GraphicsCache contains content that create this error. 


In Windows 7 the folder is located at:

“C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\AutoCAD Plant 3D 2013 – English\R18.2\enu\GraphicsCache”

You should create a backup folder and move the contents of the cache to the backup folder.

Restarting after moving the contents of the graphics cache folder should fix the issue.

    you guys know the product better than the Autodesk people. They still have not figured this one out yet…kudos!

    • Thanks for the compliments. We actually received the tip on this one from an AutoCAD support person, so I think it may be an AutoCAD issue that manifests itself in Plant 3D, but I’m not sure.
